Las Monjitas foursome clinches the title at Santa María Polo Club
Success against Ellerston in high-handicap Copa de Oro leads team to Spain's top title

In what turned out to be a great team effort, Las Monjitas, Colombian patron Camilo Bautista's team, with Argentina-s Eduardo Novillo Astrada also in its lineup, claimed the high-handicap Copa de Oro Nespresso on Saturday, August 27th. This is the leading title within the 40th Torneo Internacional BMW de Polo.
Las Monjitas faced the Ellerston foursome in the final, with brothers Facundo and Nicolás Pieres playing for the latter team. It was an even and hard-fought match, and the only real difference on the scoreboard came during the fourth chukker, when Las Monjitas eked out a two-goal advantage over its rival. The match continued that way until the definitive, 11-9 result.
Following the match, Iñaqui Laprida was elected as MVP, while Esperanza, belonging to Eduardo Novillo Astrada, was chosen as Best Playing Pony.
Prior to this match, recently-crowned Copa de Plata champions Richard Mille went home with the subsidiary cup by defeating HB 13-11.
The final day of the 40th Torneo Internacional will be Sunday 28th. In the day's first match, Marchiopolo and Sotovila will play the deciding low-handicap match, after which Anaconda Esperanza and Santa Quiteria will go all out for the Copa de Oro Valecuatro title.
