Las Monjitas and Ellerston to decide high-handicap Copa de Oro in Spain
Low-handicap semi-finals also went ahead at Santa María Polo Club

The 40th Torneo Internacional BMW de Polo is gradually coming to an end at the Santa María Polo Club, and this Thursday (August 25th) was the day for the high- and low-handciap semi-finals.
In the high-handicap division, Las Monjitas and Ellerston emerged as the teams that will battle for outright honours on Saturday 27th.
Las Monjitas defeated Scapa 15-11 in the first semi-final, in what turned out be a much more even match than what the final scoreboard indicates. Later on, Ellerston just managed victory against Dos Lunas and won the remaining berth in the final of the Copa de Oro Nespresso.
In what refers to the low-handicap semi-finals, that were played during the morning hours, Marchiopolo (that recently claimed Copa de Plata honours in this tournament) clobbered Shakib Polo Godzilla 14-7, while Sotovila defeated El Fortín Sambana 12-7. All of which leads to Marchipolo playing the final of Sunday 28th against Sotovila.
There will be medium-handicap action on Friday August 26th at Santa María Polo Club, in the shape of the Copa de Oro Valecuatro's two semi-finals: Santa Quiteria will face Sainte Mesme, while Anacaonda Esperanza will face Bayswater London Gin.
