The Veuve Clicquot International Pro/Am Polo Tournament
After a hard fought three days of preliminary rounds that began on the 3th of May, the Veuve Clicquot International Pro/Am Polo Tournament finally boiled down to the finals hosted at the Singapore Polo Club on the 6th of May.
This major event was the first international tournament of the new season and featured local, amateur, professional and international players from India, Argentina and New Zealand, competing for the coveted title.
Invited guests indulged in a delectable buffet luncheon prepared by Marmalade Pantry while they watched the riveting matches from the VIP terrace, with crisp Veuve Clicquot champagne served. The players awed the crowd with their skill and grace and as the final match drew to an end, the Pilara team emerged as winners. Miguel Diaz, Jonathan Gabler, Kevin Wilkinson, Graham Cox and Lynly Fong were proudly presented with crystal trophies as well as a Veuve Clicquot Magnum by General Manager Moet Hennessy Diageo Singapore, Mr. Richard Yeomans.
Amongst the guests, Lionel and Tina Tan-Leo, Dr. Elaine Neo, Dr. Jade Kua, Dr. Ho Ching Lin, Maniza Jumabhoy, Cheryl Miles were present for the tournament, decked out in chic hats and fascinators. In addition, Ms. Nadine Keller also walked away with the Best Hat Winner. Bringing a delicious Clicquot twist to the event with its trademark "Zeste de Folie", Veuve Clicquot created a stylish and chic champagne lounge for guests to sip champagne in style. At the Veuve Clicquot Champagne Lounge, invited guests also took part in the quintessential French game of Petanque and played table football. As the sun set, revelers ended the day's festivities with a delicious feast of a mouth-watering barbecue on the field and partied the night away to the cool beats of DJ Jon White.
Veuve Clicquot has a long history with the "Sport of Kings" and this marks the second year in its support for this annual event as Title Sponsor. With renowned international events like the Manhattan Classic (USA), and the Gold Cup (UK) to its' name, the Veuve Clicquot International Pro/Am Polo Tournament (Singapore) joins the Veuve Clicquot's international polo calendar of over 20 years.
