Copa Valentín Caset 2012, a huge success

Event sponsored by Tommy Lee Jones. Jerónimo del Carril named MVP in his division

For the third year, the Santa María de Lobos Polo Ranch went ahead with its hugely successful event for youngsters, the Copa Valentín Caset. The event was sponsored by renowned actor Tommy Lee Jones.

A total of 22 teams took part, divided into three divisions: 1, 2 and 3.

In the deciding match of division 3 (players between 13 and 15 years old) Betania claimed top honours, defeating La Lucila 6-2. Jerónimo del Carril, son of well-known polo instructor Justo del Carril, was named MVP, while La Yet, of Manuel Calafell, was the Best Playing Pony. The SML 1 team won the subsidiary cup in this division.

In division 2 (9 to 12 years), the El Carmen team narrowly won the final against La Oración, 4-3, with Tomás Panelo receiving MVP honours, and Viruta being named the Best Playing Pony.

In division 1 (6 to 8 years), first place went to the team formed by Marcos Bourdie, Amadeo Rosi and Stani Vidal.
