All set for the start of Ylvisaker Cup at IPC

Sixteen teams and some leading players ready for the ‘off’ on February 2nd

The Joe Barry Memorial Cup final will be played this Sunday at the International Polo Club, in Wellington, United States, and on Thursday, February 2nd another of the club's traditional tournaments, the Ylvisaker Cup, will kick off.

Sixteen teams, with handicaps of up to 20 goals, and with some of the world's leading players in their line-ups, will be vying for the title. Among the better-known names are David Stirling, brothers Ignacio and Miguel Novillo Astrada, and Agustín and Sebastián Merlos, Christian Laprida, Lucas Criado, Julio Arellano, Hilario Ulloa, Lucas Monteverde, Mariano Aguerre, Francisco de Narváez and Rodrigo Andrade.

The teams will be divided into four zones, and the top two of each zone will make it into the quarter-finals, scheduled for February 18th and 19th. On Wednesday 22nd the semi-finals will be played, while Sunday 26th is the scheduled date for the final.

On the opening day the fixtures are as follows: Pony Express vs. Orchard Hill, Valiente I vs. MetalTek and Circa vs. Alegria.
