New events and entertainments at Polo Club Saint-Tropez in 2012
French club's forthcoming season set to be a very interesting one
2011 International Polo Cup Saint-Tropez.
The 2012 season of the Polo Club Saint-Tropez will start on April 6th with the Easter Tournament. On the agenda of this new polo season, 15 international medium and low goal tournaments from April to the end of September. Some essentials of this season:
- The traditional Hippocampus Cup that combines polo and sailing teams and that will take place from April 20th to 29th
- A 3-day exclusively women's tournament from June 22nd to 24th, considering the growing success of feminine worldwide polo.
- The International Polo Cup Saint-Tropez from June 28th to July 8th with the polo teams on the harbor of Saint-Tropez on Thursday, July 5th, the Argentine night on Friday, July 6th and different entertainments during the weekend.
- The summer tournaments and their polo dinner parties
- The Polo Gold Cup in September
- The new Harvest Cup mid-September
Taste buds will have the place of honor with Paolo Stortoni and his team, who will welcome the amateurs of traditional Italian cuisine at la Table du Polo from beginning of April. The restaurant will be referenced again with 2 forks in the 2012 Guide Michelin, thus confirming the fame of la Table du Polo as an absolute must in the heart of the Saint-Tropez peninsula. The Chef and his team will also serve your private events at the restaurant and on its terrace or in the events area of the Polo Club.
Two new weekly appointments will be on the agenda in 2012. The Sundaybrunch@Polo will allow you to attend a polo match while tasting a buffet brunch every Sunday from April to June from 11am. Then in July and August, the Happy Hour every Thursday from 6pm will take over.
The Polo Shop will give you a pass for the world of horse fashion, but also for the seasonal trends thanks to our faithful partners.
Eventually, gala dinners, Argentine asados and numerous private and corporate events will embellish the Polo Club's life throughout the season.
What if you prefer action? Come and learn how to play polo in one of the rare clubs in France that has its own polo school, for beginners as well as for confirmed players. The school, run by Juan Martin Garcia Laborde, is open from April to September. At the polo school, the whole equipment is at the students' disposal, from the horses to the mallets, and even the saddles, boots and other accessories. The staff is also here to get the horse ready and to warm it up for the student to ride safely. Depending on the level reached at the end of the courses, a little match is organized to motivate the participants. To complete the training and safely learn the swing with a mallet, a wooden horse is at the students' disposal.
Starting from this year, besides individual lessons, the school offers a complete polo program with 3-level training courses. The 1st level is a discovery training course on a 2-day program that allows the player to get familiar with the kings' sport, whilst courses of 2nd and 3rd levels are on 5 days and teach how to control the game and the different shots.
In addition to polo training courses, the Polo Club Saint-Tropez offers the opportunity to beginners and confirmed players to relax themselves by booking a Polo, Fun & Relax week-end, which includes accommodation in Saint-Tropez, polo lessons, massage sessions, beach afternoons and lunch/dinners.
