Edging close to what can be considered a perfect season, the La Dolfina outfit claimed this year's Abierto de Hurlingham and the Abierto de Palermo, giving proof that it was undoubtedly the best foursome of 2011.

Just like each year, the team was headed in and off the field by Adolfo Cambiaso. The difference this time was that the team displayed a better and more combined team effort in the Triple Crown.

Pablo MacDonough formed part of that huge team effort, in this, his first season with La Dolfina, as was the case of Juan Martín Nero. MacDonough spoke with LivingPolo.com, and said the following:

LivingPolo.com: It may an obvious question, but, what is your balance of the season?

Pablo MacDonough: The year was obviously a very good one, the outstanding part was to have won the final (of the Abierto Argentino) the way we won it, but we played well throughout the whole season, we gradually improved, and we lost one match only, which is incredible. The balance is positive.

LP: The match you lost was the final of the Abierto de Tortugas, victory there would have meant the team would have claimed the Triple Crown. Do you feel very bad because of that?

Pablo MacDonough: No, I'm equally happy. The sadness because of Tortugas only lasted a few days, but afterwards I left that behind. That defeat was useful for improving some things at Hurlingham and for doing as well as we did at Palermo.

LP: Did you fin it surprising that both you and Nero fitted in so well and so easily into the team?

Pablo MacDonough: No, I had previously played with Adolfito, and the fact of playing alongside him is quite easy, there is not much to talk beforehand. And with Juanma and Pelón I had also played before.

LP: You are ending the year with the news that Pelón will be a 10-goal player and that La Dolfina will again be a 40-goal team…

Pablo MacDonough: We haven't spoken much about that, I think we're going to enjoy it when we start playing again.

LP: When and where does 2012 kick off?

Pablo MacDonough: To tell you the truth, I haven't any idea yet. I think we'll be at Palm Beach in February, a 26-goal tournament.
