Champagnat claims Copa Santa Paula
The renowned school went home with the title after a 24-year lapse
In a thrilling final which took place on Wednesday, September 21st on field 2 at Palermo, the Champagnat team recovered the Copa Santa Paula after a 24-year lapse, by narrowly defeating Los Molinos 8-7 1/2, after having given its rival two-and-a-half goals due to handicap difference.
The traditional school claimed its 16th title of this interschool tournament, and remains as the school which has claimed it on most occasions, ahead of St. Catherine's Moorland's, that has won it 11 times in the last 17 years. The last time that Champagnat had been champions was when Ignacio and Bautista Heguy played for the team.
In what refers to the Copa Zeus, Colegio del Pilar easily won its match 12-2 1/2 at the Pilar premises of the Asociación Argentina de Polo.
