More polo action in Austria

European Polo Championship continues at Polo Club Schloss Ebreichsdorf

Following a two-day rest for the teams, the 2010 European Polo Championship resumed on Wednesday 8th. Ten nations are competing in this low-handicap event.

Today's was the fourth round of qualifying matches at Polo Club Schloss Ebreichsdorf, in Austria. In the first one, Germany scored a resounding 17-3 victory against Hungary, after which the home team, Austria, was defeated by Slovakia, 10-5½, and Holland narrowly edged Switzerland 8-7. Spain and England reached their match undefeated, with the first-mentioned nation winning 7-2.

Thursday, September 9th is the penultimate day of the initial phase, and the fixtures are as follows: France vs. Holland, England vs. Italy, Germany vs. Switzerland, Slovakia vs. Spain. France will play against Hungary on Friday 10th, after which the finalists will emerge.
