Another great day’s action at Dubai
Two of the Dubai Gold Cup semi-finalists emerge
A splendorous Sunday saw the Threadneedle Dubai Gold Cup action continue at the wonderful Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club.
With six teams taking part in this 11/12 handicap event, at this stage two of the semi-finalists have already emerged, and both correspond to teams within Group 1. One of them is the Gulf Wings/Sumaya team, that today (Sunday 7th) defeated The First Group Polo 9-7, and the other one is Habtoor Polo. These teams will decide, this Monday, who ends up first in their group.
Sunday’s action also included the match between Zedan Polo and Dubai Falcons, with the first of them winning 8-6. This result means that three Group 2 teams still have hopes for their continuity in the event. This Monday, Dubai Falcons will face Mahra Polo team. If this latter team wins the match, it will claim first place in the zone, but if it loses the match, then there will be three teams drawn, so their goal average will be the defining factor in what refers to a place in the semi-finals.
