Despite having lost two of its three qualifying matches, Goose Creek came home winners of the Sawgrass Cup at the International Polo Club in Wellington, Floirda.

Jan Pamela had reached the final with a slight advantage after having won two matches in the initial phase, but had lost its match against Goose Creek, in what was this latter team’s only success prior to the final.

With these two wins against the same rival, Maureen Brennan, Chris Nevins, José Donoso and Mason Wroe took home the title which was chased by four teams, their handicaps ranging between 13 and 14.

In the meantime, Bendabout narrowly defeated Metal Tech 10-9 and claimed third place in the event. José Donoso was elected MVP, while Lestor, ridden by Steve Dalton (of the Jan Pamela outfit) and belonging to Wayne Warrison, was chosen as the Best Pony.
