Patron Properties/Val de Vie claims Ladies Cup on home soil
Hosts win first ladies tournament of Cape Town
Today (Sunday 14th) was a real thriller at the Val de Vie Polo Club, in Cape Town, South Africa, with the CaRRoL BoYeS Ladies Cup -the first ladies tournament to take place here- coming to an end and with the home team, Patron Properties/Val de Vie, winning the title.
Three of four competing teams had a chance for overall honours at the beginning of today’s proceedings, and in the first match, Patron Properties/Val de Vie defeated Kilakitu 4-1, thus maintaining its hopes for the title intact.
Bongani Moutain Lodge and Britesmile were next onto the playing field, with the first-mentioned outfit winning the match 4-2, and thus also had a mathematical chance of claiming the title.
The tallies of the Bongani Mountain Lodge, Britesmile and Patron Properties/Val de Vie teams were two wins and one defeat, which meant that the title depended on goal average. This led to the latter team emerging as the first one to claim a ladies championship to take place in Cape Town.
LivingPolo.com is proud to have been one of the tournament’s sponsors, and was present at the awards ceremony, presenting a blanket to the best pony of the championship, Jezze Belle, belonging to Julia Pilbeam. In the meantime, Jacquie Mackenzie, from Plettenburg, was elected as MVP of the tournament.
